008: HOWTO: Quicksilver: Application Menus

Running Time:

Learn how to access drop-down menus in every application via Quicksilver.

(Hint: As a Mac OS X screen demo, this is an episode you may prefer to watch at high-resolution)

Note that in order to use this advanced Quicksilver fu, you’ll need an up-to-date, properly configured copy of Quicksilver with “Enable Advanced Features” checked (“QS > Preferences > Application”). Also, in “QS > Preferences > Catalog > Quicksilver” make sure that the “Proxy Objects” catalog is enabled. Here’s more help on troubleshooting Quicksilver.

Update 2007-03-13: Robert Daeley has written a terrific companion to this screencast that clarifies how to set up Quicksilver properly to make this trick work: Enabling Quicksilver proxies and application menus. Highly recommended reading.
